Leadership

Leadership is the ability to communitcate effectievly, responsibility, and honesty.

Throughout the year, I was exposed to many assignments that helped me develop my idea of leadership. We studied novels about great leaders, learned about how to be a leader in small groups, how to work together as leaders in our debate, and how to decide what type of leader to be.  Overall the ALA program  has exposed me to multiple leadership opportunities, and from these opportunities I've chosen my definition of leadership.

Greek literature:  In this unit, I was exposed to two diverse leaders. Oedipus deeply cared for his people, but was arrogant. Creon was resposible, but lacked flexibility. I learned the importance of responsibilty in this unit, because Creon was willing to give up everything to uphold the justice system for his people.  He cared about what is people thought of him, and made decisions with them in mind.

VTC: This challenge taught me the significance  of communication skills. My group had to work together to make decisions that would benefit everyone. Communication was a key factor in being successful. A leader must be able to persuade their people, and make important decisions with support form their people.
